Call to Action Time to Act: Ending HIV as a Public Health Threat in Europe by 2030
November 20, 2025
Yesterday we visited the European Parliament for the launch of the Call to Action Time to Act: Ending HIV as a Public Health Threat in Europe by 2030, led by the HIV Prevention Alliance.
The event, co-hosted by MEP Marc Angel (S&D, Luxembourg) and MEP Maria Walsh (EPP, Ireland), brought together activists, health professionals, and community organizations from across Europe.
Our organization took part in the roundtable “From Policy to Practice: Delivering Transformative Prevention and Care Where It’s Needed.” The discussion highlighted how policies shape access to HIV prevention and care, and how EU decision-makers and key stakeholders can advance inclusive models of combination prevention.
Alma Aguilar represented our organization, speaking about the importance of gender-affirmative care in HIV prevention and the essential role of community services in ensuring comprehensive health for trans people. We also shared good practices making a difference across Europe, including the experience of the Trans Clinic by Trans United Europe, a pioneering model of inclusive and tailored care.
We continue to strengthen our commitment to moving towards a future where HIV is no longer a threat to public health in Europe.
